Jiaming Sun, Ph.D., is an Associate Professor in the Department of Sociology and Criminal Justice at Texas A&M University-Commerce. He has published books such as Global Connectivity and Local Transformation, Global Sociology: Analysis of Transnational Phenomena, Empirical Approaches to Global Sociology and Generation Gaps: The Background of Transition Period 1991-1994" and a number of articles on globalization, urban and cultural study in Journals such as Environment and Planning A, Journal of Social Sciences, Journal of International Consumer Marketing, Journal of Urban Health, and China: An International Journal in the last twenty years.
Xiangming Chen is Dean and Director of the Center for Urban and Global Studies and Raether Distinguished Professor of Sociology and International Studies at Trinity College. He received his B.A. from Beijing Foreign Studies University and his Ph.D. from Duke University. His publications include: The World of Cities: Places in Comparative and Historical Perspective (co-author, Blackwell, 2003); As Borders Bend: Transnational Spaces on the Pacific Rim (Rowman & Littlefield, 2005); Shanghai Rising: State Power and Local Transformations in a Global Megacity (editor, University of Minnesota Press, 2009), and about 50 papers, essays, and reviews in referred journals and edited books. His also is a co-author of two forthcoming books on globalization and cities.
