While going through the manuscript of the Baidong Rap, written by Shri Khandu Thongdok, a young an upcoming writer from the Sherdukpen Scoiety, I was totally fascinated and elated at the same time. He has comprehensively and in the most vivd manner narrated the Baidong`s rituals and its Rap. The Baidong Rap is basically an illustration on creation of nature and the way of life during time immemorial. The Baidong is not only an integral part of the Khiksaba festival, but also plays an important role during day to day festive activities. I strongly endorse that without reading Mr. Khandu`s book, one can not truly understand the ethics of the Baidong and the Baidong Rap.
